Where family consensus does not exist, it can still be created and sustained.  This Thanksgiving, you can begin the process by committing to equal shares for all children, and where possible, leaving those shares in the same manner for each child; or where that is not possible, by designing the dissimilarly treated share so that there is as little emotional impact as possible.
