Stephen R. Elville & Elville and Associates Present: The Advisors’ Forum — The Secure Act – Understanding What Passage Will Mean For Your Clients and For Your Practice (and Its Impact on Clients’ Estate Planning For Retirement Plan Assets)

July 10 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a catered lunch and networking beginning at11:30 a.m.  The Forum will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.

The Secure Act is possibly the biggest change in estate planning since the introduction of Portability and the Marital Deduction. If passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate and signed into law by President Trump, the impact of the Secure Act will bring about huge changes in the way clients and their advisors view and plan for the disposition of retirement plan assets as a part of estate planning.

These potential changes cannot be understated and will supersede, alter, or transform nearly all of the previously accepted planning concept norms of the past several decades.  In this sixty (60) minute interactive presentation, Stephen R. Elville, principal and lead attorney of Elville and Associates, P.C., will
facilitate a broad overview and understanding of the proposed bipartisan
legislation and its far-reaching impacts, including a discussion of the
following important topics:

1) The Secure Act – What is it?  A summary of the Act and the proposed changes;

2) What are the exceptions to the Act?

3) Review of current law regarding the disposition of retirement plan assets;

4) Problems associated with millions of existing estate plan implemented under the current law – immediate changes will be needed – clients will have to be notified;

5) Estate planning strategies for dealing with the proposed changes inherent in the Act – early reactions; and

6) Next steps
