Presenting at this can’t-miss event will be Baltimore Washington Financial Advisors’ Managing Director Sandy Hornor, Elville and Associates’ Principal Stephen R. Elville, the Columbia Orchestra’s Music Director Jason Love, and the Columbia Foundation of Howard County’s President and CEO Beverly White-Seals.
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
• Donor-Advised Funds: Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are funds held within, and managed by, a public charity. Community foundations, such as the Community Foundation of Howard County, helped grow the DAF effort as a way to better manage individuals’ charitable giving desires.
• Charitable Remainder Trusts: A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) is an irrevocable, tax-exempt trust with two parts: 1) The Income Interest: the income paid to the individuals who established the trust (or their designated beneficiaries) for their lifetime or a term of years. 2) The Remainder Interest: a charitable organization that receives the assets remaining in the CRT when the trust reaches its term.
• Private Foundations: A Private Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a principal fund managed by its own directors or trustees.
• Gifting Complex Assets: Land, residence, commercial property, closely-held stock, artwork, etc.
